Northlight Compare is an educational comparison tool. Reviewing these disclosures before you enter any information is intentional — we want you to understand exactly what this product does and does not do.
Not a lender, and not a guarantee
This site does not make loans, extend credit, or promise approval. Every rate, fee, and payment estimate shown is illustrative unless a card is explicitly labeled as coming from a verified partner source, and no card implies you are approved or pre-approved for anything.
No hard credit inquiry from using this tool
Entering a loan purpose, amount range, and self-reported credit band does not trigger a hard credit pull and does not affect your credit score. Any real application you eventually submit directly with a lender would follow that lender's own disclosures and may involve a credit check.
Estimates depend on information you provide
Amount ranges and credit bands are broad, self-reported categories. Actual rates, terms, and eligibility from any real lender depend on a full application, verified income, and a full credit review that this tool does not perform.
We do not collect sensitive identifiers
This tool never asks for a Social Security number, bank account or routing number, or other highly sensitive identifiers. You only provide an email, password, and broad loan preferences.

What we ask for, and what we never ask for
We collect an email and password to create your account, plus the loan purpose, amount range, and credit band you choose to submit. We never ask for a Social Security number, driver's license number, bank account or routing number, or bank login credentials.
Data we save
When you save a comparison, we store the loan purpose, amount range, credit band, and a snapshot of the illustrative offer you saved so that it stays consistent even if our sample catalog changes later. You can remove a saved comparison at any time from your dashboard.
